Haryana Civil Services (HCS) Exam Pattern
The Haryana Civil Services (HCS) Exam, conducted by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC), consists of three stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Personality Test/Interview
1. Preliminary Examination
The preliminary exam is a screening test to shortlist candidates for the main examination.
- Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Papers: Two papers, both compulsory
- Duration: 2 hours per paper
- Maximum Marks: 200 (100 marks each paper)

- Papers: Four compulsory and one optional subject
- Duration: 3 hours per paper
- Maximum Marks: 600

3. Personality Test/Interview

- Decision-making ability
- Ethical standards
Final Merit List
- The final merit is prepared based on marks obtained in the Main Examination (600 marks) and the Interview (75 marks).
Marks from the Preliminary Examination are not included in the final selection.
